J. Patrick House & Inn

I rarely give 5 stars but J Patrick deserves 4.5+. The facility is very well kept and had everything one would ever need. There's a fridge and freezer in the room. Excellent shower with very hot water. Breakfast was good and I've included a photo so you can see (quiche, 3 link sausages, yogurt and fruit, OJ and a muffin). The breakfast is delivered to your door between 8:30 and 9AM. There's a Keurig in the room with both regular and decaf. In the lobby room, there's more coffees, teas, cocoa even some packs of oatmeal and popcorn bags (which we really enjoyed as we played games with our adult children). Parking was easy and it's a quick 3 minute drive to the center of town.They don't have on premise staff (which we actually liked) so make sure they have your cell number to text the codes and info. That was the only slightly confusing part but we managed just fine. There is a pool and hot tub at their (larger) sister hotel just down the road but we didn't use. Well done. Highly recommend.

Excellent experience recently. Parking right in front of the room. Beautiful setting. Quiet. Inside you are impressed with tastefully arranged furniture, decorations, arrangements. And…freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth. Breakfast brought to you in the room. The room was spotless. Wish I had a criticism but there’s nothing to complain about.

Amazing experience at this inn located in Cambria. The moment you arrive, you'll be greeted by the best staff ever. Nana!!! The rooms are cozy, silent, and comfortable. And if you selected the breakfast service, they just deliver it to your door in the morning. Superb experience, would definitely recommend!

Great place and location, clean rooms, nice decor. Staff super friendly, (especially the cat, Nana). Highly recommended.

Would get 5 stars... BUT... The Customer Service seemed like I was talking to a Bot programmed by AI or a ChatGBT prompt. It was as impersonal as it could get. First, the positives: The room was nice and cozy, decent bathroom (although the towels for drying off after a shower were too small (30" by 40"), there were plenty of them. The room access was extremely nice... didn't need a room key. That was very convenient. The location was great. We were there for Christmas Lights at the Pines Lodge, and this was great, right across the street and missed a lot of the mess of parking in the Lodge. Don't forget to pet and say hi to the "greeter cat" Nana! Breakfast was "ok", but it was the same both days. Warm Quiche, sausages, muffins, orange juice and yogurt parfait. We didn't eat it the second day, went into town instead. Now for the not so positive: ALL communication was by text, and as I said above, about as personal as a AI prompt. We the room at 9:30 AM, we got a text at 10AM that said if we needed anything (towels, etc) to send them a text. NOWHERE in their welcome text or in that text Saturday Morning did it say we had to ask for our room to be straightened up, or have the bed made. THIS IS BAD, VERY BAD. I am there 2 nights, and would have expected for at least the bed to be made and trash picked up. If they don't do this they should communicate this to the patrons. So they fail to get 5 stars. I get the feeling that they do the bare minimum. You go to a cute BnB in the central coast, and hope for at least a little personalized service. If you are self sufficient, then book this place, if you want any personalized service, I would go across the street, where you can actually talk to a person that works there.

Stand up company. Miscalculated distances on a recent CA coastal highway road trip. Called the day of our stay and asked for a cancellation. It was not within the timeframe to cancel and they refused the refund. We understood and were not upset. When we find out the road was closed half way up Big Sur and we needed to come all the way back down to Cambria late in the day, we called to see if we could cancel our cancellation and stay in the room we originally booked. They said the rooms were now all sold out for the night and we couldn't stay but since our room was resold, they then were able to refund us. They didn't have to but did so anyway. Nice to see a business make a common sense and very decent decision. Much appreciated!!!

Loved the whole experience! Contactless check in and each room had a name. Room was very cozy and the inn had so many perks. Nana was very sweet to greet us next morning.

We had a lovely stay at the J. Patrick House! We stayed in the Cork room and it was spacious and clean. Our private bathroom (all electronic code locked) was clean and right next door to our bedroom. The house is convenient for Cambria Christmas Lights and is only a short drive to town. It looks walkable but it’s not!! The breakfast provides was tasty! Highly recommend the House!
